Cumbrae Community Garden

Established in  2012 Cumbrae Community Garden’s, ( IOCICC) most recent achievement has been the creation of a Community Garden on a derelict site within the grounds of Garrison House. With funding from the National Lottery the area was cleared and landscaped, and now has 60 raised beds and 2 polytunnels providing growing space for local people. The creation of the Community Garden has acted as a catalyst for greater community involvement in taking forward  projects which can help to develop the economy of the island, and address the problems of unemployment and lack of training opportunities.
