Isle of Cumbrae Community Initiative Company Ltd (IOCICC)
IOCICC was established by a group of local residents in 2007 to look at ways in which the the visual amenity of the island could be improved. The focus was on projects which would help to bring the community together, and raise awareness of environmental issues. IOCICC is incorporated as a company limited by guarantee (not having a share capital), and is in the process of obtaining charitable status. Since its formation, it has delivered on a range of environmental improvements such as the development and upgrading of all the footpaths on the island, the creation of an All Abilities Walkway, new poles and lights for the promenade, the renovation of part of the main pier, the installation of hanging baskets and display beds throughout the town, and the creation of an island wide Sensory Trail.
